We need a small plugin for the Android version 4.1 and later of our Android Cordova Webapp that acts as a listner and tells us when the hardware back button has been pressed specifically when the soft keyboard is up. This does not currently give a callback and the keyboard just drops and we cant send our input field the notification to also drop. We must use adjustNothing as explained below for a variety of performance reasons so this plugin will create a subclass listner that tells us the button has been clicked. Please read the link included below, and follow the links on the page to the Stackoverflow question pertaining to this issue. Thank you.
WHY WE NEED THIS:
The reason we need this is that because the back button (on Android) does not broadcast an event when the keyboard is up and the back button is pressed to hide the KB. We use adjustNothing and therefore need a plug-in that broadcasts the event when the keyboard hides so we can drop our input field.
The caveat: ionic keyboard plug in can help with this but only if adjustPan and adjustResize are the settings in the config file. We are using adjustNothing in or config for various reasons - the most important being the ability to smoothly go from emojies to KB and vice versa.
So, the detection has to happen even when adjustNothing is the setting configured. Long story short, we need to detect back button event when the keyboard is being submerged by using the back button (be it hardware or software back button) and adjustNothing is used.
