Reference check verification status utility needed .. We have a job placement site where people are allowed to show interest in positions on our website. we want to change our service to only allow candidates whose most recent employment reference has been verified, to show interest in our positions. Step 1 - add a new field to the candidate table such as 'recent reference verified' with field type Date, with default null Step 2 - when data is null, do not allow to show interest in jobs on job list. when data is not null, allow to show interest, so long as prior eligibility criteria has been met. Setp 3 - when candidate status changes to inactive, data updates to null (so that we will know to check that candidate's reference of his new most recent employer, after he reactivates) Step 4 - when candidate status changes to active, candidate is notified by email or popup window that he must enter the contact information of his most recent employer before he can be submitted to any new positions. Step 5 - additionally, when the candidate uploads a resume, his resume update date changes. if there is a period longer than 45 days between the prior resume date and the new date, then chances are, there has been some new employment during that time. therefore, there needs to be an additional reference contacted. So, notify as in Step 4 above that he needs to enter new contact info for his most recent employer, and update the recent reference check field to null. However, perhaps it is best to give them the chance to say online 'I have not had any new employment to verify - I simply modified my resume format.'
