This project is focussed on the design and formatting on a new website. The primary skills required are graphic design, html and css, especially the ability to format html tables of data to look good. The website's primary function is to allow a user to search a mySQL database and view tables of results. I'm looking for design assistance because my design skills are not up to scratch to create a very professional looking uncluttered site. The look I want is similar to the [login to view URL] site (i.e: rounded corners, minimalastic look), or like a search engine (e.g: google). The mySQL search results will be electronic music related. The site has to be fast to load so will need to be optimised and efficient. Thus far the mySQL database has been designed and partially populated, I have also designed a basic search page, written the queries for search results and used php to create search results tables (there are two tables of results per search). I have also done basic paging of results into 1 to 10 using php. The work that needs doing: 1) design/customisation of a css template for the entire site (center aligned). There will be 2 versions required, one very simple with header, horizontal menu only and all content used by the search results tables. The other should be for the supplementary pages, e.g: About, contact, etc. NB: The templates I am currently playing around with are these 2 great open source ones (below) but they are just for ideas, I'm looking for a good overall design. [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] 2) customising of the two search results tables to look good and format data correctly. This will require some highlighting of rows based on the data 3) logo design a) help with design of a main logo b) help finding small icons to use in the table, e.g: a download button rather than the word download 4) The actual web pages. I only need 5: a) A google style welcome page. I can probably do this one myself as it's just the logo and a search box b) The search results page with banner and menu at top. This is the main deliverable, needs to look professional and the data tables are the most important feature c) The advanced search options page. Again as per Google d) About page c) Contact page Please respond with some examples of your web design work. Experience handling data tables using PHP will be a bonus. Future phases will involve: - Search Engine optimisation - Creating a customer login functionality - Creating customer search logs So there is good long term potential to starting a working relationship.
