I can program in perl, C and C++, but I am not interested in learning other languages(specifically Objective C).? I want to be able to access the functionality that the Core Location Framework? provides Objective C developers via a C API.?
I want an? library that sits on top Core Location that provides the following functionality via C API:
1) Turn GPS "on" and "off".? Meaning, make the GPS device try to receive its coordinates, or turn off GPS to save power.
2)? Be able to register a? call backs that will be passed gps updates as they occur.
I intend to write a daemon process(no GUI), that will be written entirely in C that can uses this API to access GPS functionality.?
I am aware this is not the best design, or the most efficient way to write software, but I am lazy and don't want to learn objective C.? I hope this project will also help me understand how the Core Foundation project's native API works.
