Diagnostic program to detect and fix Windows settings for speakers and microphone

**Sound Diagnostics** ** Overview** This program will set the Sound output volume and record volume on a Windows PC. Often customers will have thier sound volume turned down or muted. With the Microphone they sometimes don't have it selected. Goal is to let user easily test speakers (sound out) or microphone and automatically fix any windows settings that are wrong (sound muted, etc.). **Use Case** Our typical user is Grandma Mary, a 73 year old grandmother who has only had a PC for a few months. Now her Windows sound isn't working. She doesn't know where to look for the volume settings, etc. We want to show Mary a simple form (window) that will let her quickly and easily test her speakers and microphone and adjust the volume settings in Windows if they fail the test. We want it to be easy enough for her to do it independently, or as independently as possible. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) **No installation program is needed. However, program should run without any installation**. I.e., we need to be able to simply copy files to a directory and run program. No installing to the Windows\ directory, etc.3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).4) Program must pass all Test Cases below. It must test for the condition and fix the problem (if it's a Windows setting problem) or display instructions (which I will provide) for the user. **TEST CASES** Microphone is muted within the Windows settings. Microphone volume is very low (inaudible ) within the Windows settings. Microphone is unplugged. Speakers are muted in Windows settings. Speakers volume very low (inaudible) in Windows settings. Speakers unplugged. **REQUIRED IN YOUR BID RESPONSE** Please indicated which programming language(s) you would be able to write this program in. ## Platform Required: Windows 98 and above. Desired: Windows 95 and above.
