DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A HINDI WEBSITE

Seeking an expert web designer to develop a new professional 2.0 Web site. The visually aesthetic and easy to navigate website will be a miniature showcase for an international lingo-cultural organization - packed with beautiful graphics, a stunning homepage flash animation, and some tasteful audio/video. The site will be based on an integrated theme of ‘People - Language (Hindi) - Culture (Indian culture on world stage)’, and be attractive enough to standout and get noticed. The text will be mixed English (70%) and Hindi (30%) fully UTF-8 Compatible in Unicode HTML and without the need of downloading any fonts. This effort will involve the design and development of a complete website. The design must be state-of-the-art adhering to W3C standards. The web designer must have excellent creative graphic design skills, page layout and advanced web programming knowledge (in PHP, XTML, CSS/2, JavaScript, Tableless DIV based structure, MySQL, XML, Joomla) in order to fully complete this project. Familiarity with Devanagari keyboard and Unicode fonts is a must. A classy flash animated slide show is desired on the homepage header. An important desired feature is a simple Content Management System (CMS) to easily update web content and uniformly add pages in-house without a developer. The CMS must be able to support both English and UTF-8 Hindi. The designer will be expected to present a detailed design along with 3 prototype layouts showing a two-page concept of what s/he has in mind - with an example of a homepage and an inside page along with navigational bar, buttons, and titles/subtitles. Designer must be willing to make multiple revisions until we are satisfied (we will of course minimize it). Once the design is approved, the designer will complete the basic structure of the website integrating the page layouts with the CMS along with a guest book type on-line Contact Form with 9 fields and its formatted email response. We will supply the Hindi and English text pre-typed. The developer however needs to hand type Hindi headings & subheadings in Unicode font, and layout the content for about 13 HTML pages and associated images. Image optimization and sizing would be required. The payment will be based on 3 progressive milestones: 30% invoiced after design approval of Home page and an inside page, 60% after the website is installed and functional with all deliverables, and 10% after 3 months of post-project support for bug fixing and necessary modifications. We will provide all the text content, photos for the photo gallery, and some stock images. The designer should however be able to procure and apply additional high-quality royalty free graphics and images necessary to enhance the site. The site should be up and running in 3-4 weeks time. DELIVERABLES FOR THIS PROJECT a) Complete and fully functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. The code must be clean and well documented, tested and validated. b) Installation on our ISP’s server along with ready-to-run Installation package. c) Exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (if any GPL or 3rd party components used all copyright ramifications explained and agreed to by us in advance). d) W3C Validation of the website (XTML & CSS). All necessary layout, graphics, CSS, HTML, Meta information, etc. e) A comprehensive step-by-step Instruction Manual to maintain the website without the need for a web master and to modify simple text, edit and add pages without a developer.
