Convert .AI Illustrator File to .PSD Photoshop File, without loss of quality.

I have a Maptorian map file in .AI format. I want to be able to edit this, exactly as it is, but in photoshop. When converting the files myself and opening in photoshop, the quality is poor. The file needs to be at least 300dpi as it will be used for printing in large sizes. Ideally 600dpi.
I'm not sure if the file can be exported all in one go, with the quality being kept, of it someone needs to save each layer as a PSD and merge them back together as one large PSD at the end.

I read your description, and wanted to offer a suggestion, but I can't do that without bidding. In Illustrator, the third option in the Effects menu is Document Raster Effects. Make sure that's set to 300dpi or 600dpi. Then select File, Export and export as a psd. You will have the option to preserve the layers. I hope this helps.
