I am looking for a freelancer chemist (or a person with with very strong expeirence with making home made skin cream) who has in-depth knowledge and experience with chemistry background. I have developed a product and need it improved. Your job is to help me optimize and improve a natural food based skin cream in the following ways; Increase the shelf life of the product. Improve the consistency and look and texture of the product Advice of any known possible adverse reactions from certain skin types. Offer suggestions to improve the recipe or other improvements. Currently the main ingredients being used (food grade ingredients); Coconut Oil Olive Oil Avocado Oil Beeswax Food grade emulsifiers (usualy used in common food ingredients). An assortment of ground up vitamins and powders. I would need to know ways to improve and get your advise on; Percentage of ingredients to be used How to blend ingredients (step by step instructions) Answering my questions (prefer a prompt email response) Please contact me if you are qualified for this project. Hello, I think I can help you to optimize and make you additional suggestions to your cream. I am a chemical engineer working as a consultant in biotechnology and chemistry. My PhD thesis was in fact about the synthesis of acyclovir and development of transdermal assays to check the flux of acyclovir thorugh artificial membranes. In fact, my studies concluded with an international journal article and an European Patent. I would need to know what type of cream do you want to get: Cleansing cream, Massage, cream, Night cream, Moisturizing cream, Foundation cream, Vanishing cream or an all purpose cream. Do you intend to administer some specific API (active pharmaceutical compound)? Would you be willing to try to additional ingredients such as penetration enhancers, vehicles, emollients, etc.? natural and more expensive? or synthetic and cheaper? or a balance between both? I see that your cream consist only in an oily phase (hydrophobic), there is no hydrophilic phase. You designed it specifially that way? I guess I can help you much, but you need to tell me what is your end goal with your cream and how flexible you are regarding to modify your formulation. As a patent specialist currently working in the Patent Office of my country, I may even help you to draft a patent if I consider it viable for an additional price. Hi there. I'm an Australian Chemical Engineer (currently living in Malaysia) and have formulated emulsion food products plus designed the equipment to manufacture them for companies like Masterfoods. If you go to an Australian supermarket and buy any of their Dolmio brand creamy pasta sauces then you can see the stablised emulsion base mix I created for them 15 years ago. My wife is a pharmacist so she can provide advice on the allergen issue and has experience in formulating topical emulsion products. It looks like you already have selected the main ingredients so I understand that you want advice on the optimisation of these re shelf life, texture, allegenicity and method of manufacture. What I propose is to procide you with an initial recipe based on those ingredients with ranges provided for each. You will need to do a little trial-and-error bench work to check that the appearance is what you want but we can get you close so the amount of bench work is minimal.
