Build a Website

We are a UK based transport company, and we are looking to offer our customers access to statistical delivery information via a website. We have designed various reports using Microsoft Power BI. However, we are unable to publish these reports outside our organisation with the standard package. Power BI reports can published to apps and/or third party websites via a ‘Power BI Embedded’ (API). For ‘Power BI Embedded’ to work, the data-source needs to be stored on an Azure SQL database. Our core data is stored on an on premise SQL database. We have reconfigured the Primary index key to a ‘clustered’ index, which allows us to synchronise the data with an Azure based SQL database. We have created a ‘Visual Studio’ project which displays the Power BI Dashboard within a third party website and requires no Microsoft Power BI authentication. (Files can be sent or sample downloaded from [login to view URL]) Scope of project. We require the project to be modified to incorporate the following: 1. Login – The data is sensitive, so the website we require a secure login process. There will be no requirement for online registration as access to the website will need to be granted in advance. 2. Login – When the user logs into the website, we will need to record their ‘account code’. This account code will need to be ‘pushed’ to the Power BI dashboard to filter the data. This is very important, as a user should only see information relating to their account code. We have not been able to trial/test this but believe is can be achieved by using REST with Power BI Embedded. The ‘REST’ should allow data source connectivity and multi-tenancy of data without the requirement of a Power BI subscription. Please see [login to view URL] for more information. 3. The user login details will need to store in an Azure SQL database a. An ‘account code’ could have multiple users e.g. Company A, may want access for the financial director and transport planner. b. We will require the ability to disable a user account. 4. We will require the source code of the final project 5. The completed website will need to be configured on an Azure IIS server.
