We are seeking to build a library of BIM objects that comply with a UK national standard. [login to view URL] lists a number of already approved BIM objects in a compliant [login to view URL] website is free to access but requires registration which is instantly available. We already have 3D drawings of our products in a STEP format (other formats are possible). I am not familiar at all with revit but I think we also have to add some extra data which you can assume we can readily supply you with (things like electrical wattage, sound rating and so on). Our products fall in the areas of hand dryers, electric water heaters and electric room heaters. Of these, it seems there are already some examples of hand dryers that would form a good example. I will suggest a specific example to the freelancer. This task then is to produce an equivalent BIM file to the example on the [login to view URL] site but with our product drawing and parameters. We have around 30 products to do. Do remember that you can assume we supply you with a suitable step file - I enclose an example file below. Please quote to do the BIM for the first Jetstream example and also the approximate cost for extra similar examples. I assume the first one will take more time, as you need to look at the examples and get the format right. The output must be in Revit. Mike

I'm a Revit expert with +8 years experience and high proficiency, above all I'm a skilled parametric families developer, I follow the best practices for my content to be effective but lightweight. Here's an estimate of the amount of time needed to build a custom library: - preliminary setup and planning for the first family of a group of similar objects: from 2 to 4 hr - development of each single family can take an average time of up to 1.50 hours. Much depends on how many groups of similar families we have, of course. The step file attached can be imported in Revit but will remain a fixed solid geometry (useful as a reference anyway); if we want the object to flex, it is necessary to rebuild the geometry with Revit elements, whose dimensions can be driven by parameters. In this way, we can describe a variety of devices within the same family, all these for example: [login to view URL] Any other data such as electrical wattage, sound rating and so on can be included as well. I will consider 80 $ for the first of each group + 40 $ for each next product regardless the number of different types.
