Hello I'm an electronic engineer and i can develop your design using a 16F84 pic microcontroller, it could be used 4 AA batteries to source the circuit, using the reed switch as an microcontroller input to control the two valves, please specify the valve model in order to help you to design the final circuit. As specified in your drawing, you need to delay the valve opening 5 seconds after reed switch is closed, just a question: you need to delay the two valves, or just one of them?
