Editing, Formatting And Layout Of Metaphysical E-Book

Requirements: - Must have experience with desktop publishing/formatting of .pdf e-books. - Must have good writing/editing skills. - Must have religous tolerance, and an open mind. Project Description: The goal for this project is to take all of the "chunks" of content that has been created and mold it into a professional looking e-book. All of the content that will go into the e-book has been compiled into a text file. This content falls under 4 categories: - Case studies - Magick Spells - Words of Wisdom - Question And Answer The information has come from old email newsletters, the blog, and other pieces of content that have been created by Rose. Here are the tasks you'll complete: 1. Use your content organization skills to "group" each piece of content into the 4 categories above. 2. You'll create an outline of the content, which will become a very detailed Table of Contents. 3. You'll "clean up" the content so it flows in the form of an e-book. Remember, most of this content was written as "stand alone" content. 4. Once the content is cleaned up and established, now it's time to put it into a Microsoft Word "template" that you create. 5. Paste the content into the templates and organize it per the table of contents. This is the step where you'll also establish the font size, style, colors, etc. 6. Go through all pages of the e-book and notate where artwork needs to go. I'm also hiring an artist to do funny and interesting cartoon images to add to the content, make points, inject humor, etc. 7. Final step: you'll send me a copy of the final document... Here are the tasks you'll complete: 1. Use your content organization skills to "group" each piece of content into the 4 categories above. (Example: each newsletter issue and other piece of content is seperated by a long dashed line. You'll go into each piece and break out the various pieces into one of the 4 categories. You'll rip out the case studies/testimonials and group them all together in a seperate file. Same for the Magick Spells (and intros to the spells), the "Words of Wisdom" (which are not specified, but are tips and advice that are NOT spells), and the Questions and Answers. 2. You'll create an outline of the content, which will become a very detailed Table of Contents. This will include basic titles for each of the 4 categories above, sub categories (do your best to "sub" categorize the material if possible) under each of the 4 categories, along with titles for each of the content items under each subcategory. Don't spend much time slaving over the titles...I just need very basic titles in this step, as I'll be re-writing these titles to capture the flavor of the content. I just need an "outline" for the table of contents, so I know where each piece of content is going to appear under which category and subcategory. Example: One of the 4 main categories is Magick Spells. So, for the outline/table of contents you'll have: - Magick Spells (Main Category) - Love Spells (Sub Category) - The knot love spell (content item/spell) - The smoke love spell (content item/spell) etc... 3. You'll "clean up" the content so it flows in the form of an e-book. Remember, most of this content was written as "stand alone" content. You'll pull out anything that "dates" the content... and anything that won't "work" in the scope of an e-book. There are spells and tips for certain times of the year, and that is fine...but when Rose is talking about what she's going to do on the weekend, and you can't make it flow in the scope of the e-book, remove that part, etc. Add a few sentences here and there to establish some sort of flow between the content items and section. 4. Once the content is cleaned up and established, now it's time to put it into a Microsoft Word "template" that you create. Create a simple, but professional quality "look and feel" template for the ebook. It should be simple, with some purples, blues, blacks... Design the title page, the large table of contents, main category title pages, and content pages. 5. Paste the content into the templates and organize it per the table of contents. This is the step where you'll also establish the font size, style, colors, etc. 6. Go through all pages of the e-book and notate where artwork needs to go. I'm also hiring an artist to do funny and interesting cartoon images to add to the content, make points, inject humor, etc. Example: on the title page you'll notate where the image will go...in each spell and piece of content where you can see a cartoon would help with humor, or illustrate a point being made, or a spell step, etc... notate and make a place for that image to go. 7. Final step: you'll send me a copy of the final document... I'll have an artist create the images, while you wait... then you'll insert the images and create the final .pdf document. ------------- This MUST be a very clean and professional looking e-book with a neat and eye-pleasing unique layout...
