Hi,
I need to emulate a crystal oscillator circuit (attached) based on wave digital filter (WDF). Basically we aim to have WDF emulation that match a Spice simulation (e.g. in Cadence). I Already have the circuit simulated in Cadence (the output attached) . Attached, my circuit (Crystal Oscillator) schematic that needs to be mapped to WDF along with its output waveform, you will notice that there is no input in the circuit as any other oscillator that oscillate from the resonance.
You need to read the paper in the attachment to have a clear picture. Moreover, I attached the source code for the circuits emulated in the paper in Fig:12 ( differential amplifier circuit)
The source code for the paper is written in C++. The C++ goal is to make sure that the circuit mappings to wave digital filter give the same results of Spice simulation. After we confirm that C++ results match the cadence simulation results, we need to implement it in a FPGA using Verilog
BTW, you are not limited to code in C++, you may use others like Matlab but since we have already the source code, it will be easier to work with it
I think for the C++, you will be using for the target circuit is the same code files I provided you but one file, which is the header file for the circuit targeted to be emulated (e.g. diff2WDF.h) , this one that need to edited For the targeted circuit.
So, you will develop both software and hardware platform, which obtain an optimal WDF implementation based on the given circuit, and implements it in FPGA to form a reconfigurable emulation hardware platform with high speed and small area.
You will notice that there is a lookup table for the transistor. Basically. WDF works with linear components and transistor is not linear, so we need to linearize it to map it to WDF. The transistor is modeled as a linearized equivalent circuit with offline nonlinear lookup table (LUT) that stores the equivalent circuit parameters (
Wow, Wonderful!
I met the first FPGA project in freelancer :)
