I have a large (10TB) database on Windows 8.1. Need to upgrade 12.1 to 12.2. I have never done an Oracle upgrade, so desire a DBA who has done it and can guide me and assist with questions and help make it smooth. Using ASM. There is one very large text index, which I would prefer to not have to recreate (it takes 3 weeks), but if needed it's OK to drop/recreate. Prefer to not duplicate the database (don't recreate all objects), but to upgrade it in place. I have a 4 day weekend coming up with Thanksgiving holiday in the US to do it when no production access is needed. Worst case I drop 12.1, create 12.2, and import the database. But prefer to upgrade in place if possible.

I have understood ur reuirement option 1 -> Inplace upgradation required which is doable but oracle recommends for out place upgrade option 2 -> Seperatly installing grid_home and oracle_home of 12CR2 and then perform import with impdp prior performing any of this 2 backup has to be taken to avoid any problems Believe I have understood ur reqirement as per the above points Looking forward to work with you +91 9866006761

It will require around 4 days (32 hours) of effort to do it.
