Hi, the challenge of small signal amplifier like your requirement is noise filtering and amplifiying issue. we must use good grade component (medical grade is better for small signal ), we must filter the signal first, and then amplify it using instrumental amplifier. For ADC circuit, we could discuss later, I prefer use TI / Analog Devices ICs as they have good support,application,design guide, and reference. Use Photodiode BPW34 or 21, design an circuit that would do : 1. amplification from nA current input to 100X to 1000X 2. Time integration for this input 3. Analog Output to connect to Arduino as analog 4. Bonus : 16 bit A/D as output for Arduino.
