I am a qualified doctor currently on a sabbatical to pursue my interests in non-medical fields which include writing/blogging, travelling, arts, pop culture and current events. While my employment in the last 3 years has been centred around medicine, the skills I have acquired are transferable and could be utilised in various fields. Dealing with patients and their families provided me with opportunities to hone my communication skills especially in difficult situations making me very empathetic and easy to relate to. The huge amount of work involved in medicine has also made me a hard-working team player who is very organised and apt at dealing with stressful work environment and tight deadlines. I have had experience in designing brochures for events back during my school and university time and I could do this without any problems.
