Looking for a Keen-eye Designer

This is a new site that we intend to grow a great deal. We have some good content and basic functionality. I am not totally satisfied with the overall design of the site. I am looking for suggestions about ways to improve the the look of the site without a total redesign. This project is simply to make some recommendations for improvements. Our goal is to get ideas together about design changes and then decide what actual changes to make. For example, one advisor suggested that our fonts are boring. If that is the case, we are looking for specific suggestions about how to change the theme to improve the look of the site. All other basic design and layout considerations are on the table. We are not making any changes to this project not but looking for recommendations. If that includes visual representations of a proposed change, that would be good too.
