We need to resolve SMIL file requests with the Wowza Streaming Engine Java API, we tried the following post from Wowza: [login to view URL], but can't make it work. We need the procedure to create a .jar in Eclipse with Wowza IDE to achieve the same, could be the same in link or other code in Java. We don't need the .jar itself because we need to modify the content in the SMIL. Another approach could be to supply a working .jar file who read from a local .xml file with SMIL info. We are listen for ideas.

Hello, I'm a Senior Software Developer specialized in videoprocessing, -steaming and related fields liek DRM and CDN integrations and alike. I do use Wowza on a daily basis since several years (in my main Job), including implementation of custom modules for various usecases. The API you referred to can be used to dynamically create a MediaList that is normally defined in a local (static) SMIL file. Where would the information about the MediaList to be used for a given request come from in your case? If you do already have SMIL files holding the information, it might be a better idea to use a StreamNameAlias provider instead. Could you give more information about the actual usecase? As that would give me a better understanding about what you are trying to achieve. Regards, Thorsten
