Thunkable Android app - Need help with spreadsheet / database

Background: I am presently building a simple Christian Android Bible app using Thunkable, made good progress and have now hit a roadblock, as a result of which external support is required to get the project done. Status of the project: The graphics and design aspects have now been completed, e.g. layout, buttons and background pictures are in place. What is the app supposed to do? The aim of the app is to allow Christians to follow pre-determined reading plans through the Bible. Users will have the choice to follow set Scripture readings for the morning, evening or combined morning / evening. Data availability: I created a spreadsheet containing links to the set readings for morning, evening, as well as the combined readings together with deep URLs per date to an external Bible resource. It is thus mostly a question of retrieving the correct URLs from the spreadsheet / database for today's date. The data comes in the following format: Column A (date), Column B (deep link to set morning readings), Column C (deep link to set evening readings) etc. The core functionality of the app would be to determine the user’s local date and to open the URL linked to the date in question in a webviewer or to open the URL in a browser window. Deep links have already been created for each day and morning, evening or combined scenarios and do not require any refinement. They have been tested and work. In order to illustrate: Assuming the date on the user’s device is 13 May 2018, the app should be able to determine this automatically and open the correct URL contained in the spreadsheet/database for 13 May 2018 for morning, evening or combined (whichever button was selected by the user). Issues I am facing: 1) The major roadblock I am facing is that I am unable to build the Thunkable blocks that would get the user’s date and open the Bible readings in a webviewer. 2) The famous Cloudstitch / Firebase “colon” problem. A Cloudstitch account has been created, yet I am uncertain whether this is the best database for this purpose and would be open to using Firebase. Your mission: 1) Set up spreadsheet with Cloudstitch, Firebase or another cloud database and link with app. 2) Insure the app gets the users date and opens the right URL as described above in a webviewer or browser.
