Build Contractor Ranking Website

The project involves building a website of five reusable pages: 1 ??" Home page, 2 ??" Search Results page, 3 ??" Contractor Record page, 4 ??" Login page, 5 ??" Review page that interact with a MySQL database. The developer will build both the pages and the database. Use WordPress as the content management system. The finished product shall allow me to make entries into MySQL with either client tools for bulk insertion of data or through the website for individual entries. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). 1) Navigation a. Home page ??" lets the user log in, arrive at a search results page, or see a contractor record directly when displayed on the home page. b. Search results page ??" lets users log in, select a contractor record, or return home. c. Contractor page ??" lets the user log in, write review, perform another search, or return home. d. Log in page ??" returns user to the calling page once user is authenticated or forwards user to the review page (note: if unauthenticated user clicks on a link to review a contractor he is first forwarded to this page for authentication). e. Review page ??" returns user to the contractor page after submitting or canceling review. 2) Basic Features a. All pages shall display Google AdSense vertically on the right hand side. b. The Home page shall allow users to search for contractors by all database fields (business name, category, phone, address, state, zip code, or ranking) i. It shall also use a category navigation menu (compare the blue JavaScript category menu at [login to view URL] on the left) c. The search results page shall display a listing of contractors sorted by relevance, with each record linking to the particular contractor’s page. i. The table of results shall display the business name, contact information (i.e. phone, address, website, etc.), and rating statistics. ii. The page shall display both search results (by using a textbox) and browsing results (by using the category navigation menu). d. The Contractor pages shall allow all users to view and authenticated users to write a review and rank of the contractor. i. The contractor’s contact information: phone, address, etc. shall be shown at the top of the page and followed by a review/ranking section. ii. Ranking shall use a five star system like [login to view URL] iii. Ranking shall record whether a person found the review/ranking helpful, show the proportion of people that thought the review/rank helpful, and report abuse. iv. Unauthenticated users may indicate yes/no regarding the helpfulness of the review/rank, but their IP address shall be recorded to prevent duplicate voting. e. The Login page shall collect information from new users and verify the credentials of existing ones. i. New users shall give their email, phone number, street address, and screen name. 3) Appearance a. The site shall have a clean, minimalistic, thoughtful, and professional style (theme). 4) The URLs shall be: a. Home: [login to view URL] b. Contractor: [login to view URL] /contractor_name ## Platform The host environment is an Apache server with MySQL, PHP, and WordPress.
