Looking for someone who knows Perl and PayPal IPN to write an IPN script and help us get it working.
We sell shareware. Our shareware is unlocked by a registration code that is keyed to the "registered name" custom field that the customer provides at purchase time.
We currently sell our shareware using a PayPal "Buy Now" button; on the form we also have a custom field "os0" to accept the "registered name".
When the purchase is completed, PayPal sends us an email that includes the "registered name", we manually run a program that generates the code, and then we email this code to the customer.
We would like to automate this process using IPN.
Our hosting service has Perl support and we already have an automated code generator working for a different e-commerce provider (DigiBuy). We would provide this script to you so you can modify it to work with IPN.
All the IPN script should do is verify the PayPal transaction is legitimate, generate the code, and email the code and registered name to the customer (and send a copy to us too). We do NOT want any database support, record keeping, etc.
We would provide you with an example of the format of the generated email message (e.g. "Here is your registered name and registration code...")
We understand that it may be necessary to also modify the paypal order page on our site. You can view this page here:
