Document editor

A prototype application to write and maintain complex documents composed of a cover page a table of content one or several chapters a cover page for each chapter each chapter can include one or several attachments (typically doc, xls, jpg, txt...) files A typical document may include about 100 pages and 10 chapters Constraints : The document must be printable with a nice presentation : for example, on each page, it should be possible to print the logo of a company along with the title of the document, date printed, page number... Bit map printing is not acceptable (except for a jpg, tiff or other bit map attachment) All data must be stored in a SqlServer database (a regular file in a directory is not acceptable, txt or binary storage is a must for attachments) A print report template (eg : company logo , date printed on each page...) should allow to print several different documents or a modified document without being rewriten. Xml/html are welcome as long as they are stored in a database The database for the prototype can be MSAccess or SqlServer (eventually, it will be SqlServer) The report package can be the VB built-in report generator, Active report or Crystal report The possibility of handling a full tree structure (chapter, sub chapters, sub-sub chapters...) would be a plus The application will be used both as client server and with a IIS web server (in the later case, the document will be read only) There is no obligation to use Word or Excel to edit attachments if an other suitable mechanism is provided (eg : rtf ) Any commercial activeX or combination is acceptable (ask first) Some constraints may be sweetened to faster execution or better feasibility The deliverable : a prototype application in MSAccess or VB able to : create a new document view and modify the document (adding chapters, adding attachments in a chapter...) print a document in the way described All sources with transfer of copyrights ## Deliverables Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
