I am attempting to build a book store using woocommerce and a wordpress template. I am happy with the template but it is lacking one functionality - the ability to show authors of the products (books). I need a plugin that would allow me to add an author as a taxonomy with the same hierarchy as categories (which I have so far managed to do by inserting some functions in the [login to view URL] file) and for it to show on the front end product page (which I have not been able to do). I also need a page for authors to show all their books, a picture and a little biography. I would prefer a plugin so that when updating/changing the theme I do not lose the functionality. It also needs to be WPML compatible as I have a multilingual site.

Hi, I can modify the existing taxonomy that you already have to add support for image and bio, if you already have data in. In order to display the author info on the frontend I need to edit and add some templates to the theme, From what you're describing, you are not using a child theme so we'll need to use one so the theme doesn't break when you update it.
