Looking for someone that know how to shell script with whiptail on Ubuntu. I am looking to create an administrator menu system for my Linux appliance that runs Ubuntu. The idea is the menu would be seen by enduser and let them change or set the ip address of the box. Change the hostname, reset the default root password, reset the box to factory default, enable backup services (starts a init.d script)... reboots the box. and any other things required to admin the box. A hidden menu for access to shell. (want to keep them in the script and have it start up at the login. The box has other gui based software on it that the user can use once the unit is up to make the main changes.

Hello! I have similar experience in creating administration utilities with TUI: tool for changing network settings in local network and add/change user accounts. Great budget for such task, but of course all depends on your requirements (features), although it can be done under 250$ - And so, you want to restrict access to console (shell), i.e. when user will log-in into console the utility will launch automatically instead bash or any other login shell. Or you want use it as a regular tool, /usr/bin/tool_name? >The box has other gui based software This software is graphical or also use a whiptail? Do you need some kind of integration with it? Do you want use whiptail and unix shell or maybe you will consider other programming languages? I will happy answer on any questions! Thank you for attention!
