I am a UK/EU based freelance Industrial Automation Engineer specialising in the development of automated robot cells & bespoke automation equipment. I undertake full life cycle design & build of SPM (Special Purpose Machinery) & I also provide project management consultancy services. I am an experienced Engineering Project Manager & I have successfully lead machinery & automation projects across various industry sectors for global corporate clients. I am competent with all phases of the machine development cycle including: • initial client liaison • concept derivation & specification • mechanical & electrical design • software specification & development • supplier management & manufacture • assembly & commissioning (FAT) • site installation & snagging (SAT) • CE Marking & documentation In the last 18 months I have developed and installed the following equipment: - 2x mobile robot assembly robot cells (6-axis Kawasaki) - Fully automated gantry robot cell for plastic injection molding client; picking, processing & packing molded parts - R&D program for patented beverage production technology with subsequent development of commercial scale process skids now running in bottling plants in Italy, USA and UK - Numerous jigs, fixtures and labour saving machines - 3x PLC system upgrades and new control panels My previous larger clients include Comau, Rolls Royce, Toyota, Caterpillar, Becton Dickinson & Halma.
