I have rea the description of your project and it sounds really amazing and interesting, I believe I have the quality needed for this job and my basic idea is to use a microcontroller like raspberry PI and create a program on it that will read the text and translate it to morse code and as an out put to it I will use an Arduino to convert the code sent by the raspberry PI, to the infrared emitter.
