Shopify App Development

We want a shopify app that allows a store owner to include an "Add shipping insurance" option for uses on the cart page. This will be a public app that will run on any storefront where it has been installed. From my initial look at this, this would be accomplished using ScriptTags in Shopify to add the option to the cart page. The deliverable would look something like this: - App that would first ask for appropriate permissions from user on installation of app (we will develop the workflow ourselves on what a happens during app installation in terms of account setup and such. The deliverable needs to do the minimum to get required permissions) - Upon installation, app would add a Product to the store catalog that would be designated as "Insurance". It would contain a number of variants, with each variant being a different "price" for insurance. Deliverable would contain a sample list of 3-5 different insurance costs. - App would include an option on the cart page for user to choose to include insurance (see [login to view URL] attached) - If/when user selects the option, it adds the insurance product to the cart. See [login to view URL] - Deselecting the box would remove it from the cart - The checkbox option needs to show the amount of the insurance. A call to an external endpoint (maintained by us) will need to be made to get insurance amount - The ScriptTag needs to be able to make a call to external api endpoint (that we make available) that passes the cart items, with totals, which would then return how much insurance needs to be charged (or which variant to select to charge the right amount). IF there is a way to dynamically change the price of the insurance product in the cart of just that cart, then we wouldn't need the variants. - For purposes of the deliverable, that endpoint can be mocked - If an external endpoint call is not possible in ScriptTags, then we will need to work thru the logic that determines which of the variants to add (which is the actual insurance cost) - The option for users to add insurance must work across any theme the shop owner has installed. It cannot be specific to just a single or basic theme. This needs to work both on a standard checkout page as well as the "Drawer" checkout option. -If possible, would like that "Add Shipping Insurance for ..." option to include a small graphic as well as an info icon that can be clicked on, at which point a modal would pop up with details about the insurance Additional details can/will be made available for whomever is interesting in this job posting.
