Build SQL Query: Most Popular Phrases With a Variable

Hi I am a database expert with 15 years experience in handling MS SQL databases. I have worked as DBA for large ERP databases and use to write and do performance tuning for SQL queries, procedures and triggers. I am not making a proposal to do this, but just trying to initiate a discussion, as I could not find an algorithm for this requirement, either using full text search or using the like operator. I wanted to know if there is any additional information available regarding this. Or is it possible to already list out a set of possible phrases like 'can't connect to % website' and then get the count of only those phrases? Otherwise even if we write some sophisticated code to implement this requirement, it will give many duplicate rows as shown below for the same example you provided Phrase Count can't connect to X website 3 can't connect to 3 connect 3 website 3 Can you please let em know if you find any further possibilities that could make this simpler.
