Technical Writer for Machinery Maintenance and Operating Manuals

Seattle Safety designs, manufactures, installs and services innovative crash testing systems to improve vehicle and aircraft safety. Our systems are installed in automotive and aerospace facilities in 14 different countries across Asia, Europe, North and South America. We are looking for a Seattle-based Technical Writer with equipment/machinery manufacturing experience, who can help us organize, standardize and maintain existing technical manuals, and later develop new manuals as additional equipment is designed. We have both operating and maintenance manuals for each crash system we develop. There is a need for a larger amount of work initially, and then a longer term, ongoing needs for maintenance - about 6-8 times per year, approx. 40 hrs of work each time. We need a local Tech Writer because this person would need to come to our Auburn, WA office to meet with Service/Installation technicians and engineers. We need someone who has worked with complex machinery or large equipment manufacturing and can make best practice recommendations for our manuals. They may also be engaged to help with ongoing Service Bulletins.
