My name is Rodolfo, I´m a 35 years old Revit content developer from Argentina. I started with Revit in 2010 working for one of the most important BIM firms of Latin America and one of the fife world-wide Autodesk Seek Revit families suppliers (now Bimobect). Creating Revit content compliant with RMSG standards and QA/QC procedures ( Revit Modeling Style Guide) was a daily task for almost 5 years, creating content for more than 150 projects, including MEP, ARCH & STR, loadable, system and symbolic families, for 3rd party BIM content suppliers, manufacturers and custom families to meet specific BIM projects requirements, staff training and OSS. Modeling Approach Families will be parametric and with full mapped connectors when required. Type Catalogs will be created if needed. BIM Standards, product accessories, installation configurations could impact on the family planning/number/modeling time. Better to specify them prior the beginning of the modeling process. (specs sheet, CAD, product brochures needed). Avrg Hrs per family 2-5hrs I propose as initial milestone the creation of a family prototype to review the level of detail of families, connectors, schedulable data, material set up, visibility settings, levels of visibility and more.
