A simple Visual Basic for Applications script that installs into word 2013, and provides a button labeled "Garble". When this button is pressed, it iterates through the Word Document that is open, and replaces every word it finds with a string of random characters of equal length (keeping the same capitalization), and replaces every number it finds with a random number of equal length. It leaves symbols, bookmarks, formatting, etc. the same. The purpose of this script is to strip a Word document of all sensitive data, while retaining the formatting and structure. I'm doing this so I can show someone the structure of a document, without giving them any of the actual content of the document.
This button should install by running an installer, and be available any time Word 2013 is running, regardless of what document is open; and should be easy to uninstall also. An installer is optional - as long as you provide instructions on where to copy the file/delete the file from to have the button appear/go away.
Hi,
I can help you with the task. The last plugin I built for Office 2013 was a PowerPoint addin that has main role to insert WebBrowser control on the slide and refreshes it automatically when presentation is running. To build something like that would require more knowledge and experience. In your case it would be easier.
Installer - I would leave it for later in case you decide to distribute the add-in. We can either create custom registry file or to manually copy add-in in special folder. Whichever way you want.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for any questions. I am available to start imidatelly. We may have few hours of delay due to different time zone but I ensure you you shall be satisfied with the solution I provide.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
