Storyline and Lore Writing for Video Game

Hi, I can do a really great job working with you on the game lore. I currently run my own editing business in the UK, and I am a full-time, qualified fiction writer with a long publication history (please see my profile). I seems like you're going for a Skyrim feel for your world, which is a game I've wasted (?) many hours on. Well, besides I am a writer, I'm also a gamer. I play WoW(World of Warcraft) for like 6 years, and as I can see this game you're making, are similar to WoW. I love fantasy and I enjoy even when I speak about it. So I'm pretty sure we will cooperate well for this project.

Creative writing, an action-adventure game AND brainstorming? What a fun project! I'm a fiction writer (my first book is coming out in three months - though admittedly it's not fantasy this time) and storytelling is my forte. I've spent hours upon hours discussing ideas and creating worlds with my writer friends just for the fun of it, and I have a lot of experience beta-reading and editing other people's stories for content. This is not the first gaming job spec I have seen, but it is by far the most interesting. Although I am not a gamer, I follow the industry avidly. For example, whatever the critics say, Destiny as an open universe under construction until 2018 is revolutionary. I was disappointed when the Black Glove game failed to reach its target on Kickstarter. I have been a writer and reader since I was young and have always loved fantasy and myth. I recently joined a D&D group and have toyed with the idea of writing something - but am already working on a novel. My favorite thing about the role-playing game is developing my character and how she interacts with other characters. (My character is a ranger, with a snake for a 'familiar' named Naja. She is modeled on Dido, Queen of Carthage, and my namesake, a warrior princess.) As for my conventional qualifications, I have been a professional editor and writer for almost ten years. I have written for a dating site, niche arts and culture magazine (permanent), teachers' resources, an investment blog, and so on. I have had some creative stories published in itch, a South African journal. I immerse myself thoroughly in my work and enjoy working with others. I am known among colleagues for my passion for learning and creativity. Note the milestones are just a guide, because this sounds like a interactive process that we would decide on later.

Hi there, Well, if you wanted somebody as excited about this as you, I think you found your guy right here :) Everything sounds great. I've read the story background and I am confident I can produce some excellent work and insight here. I really am communicative person, opinionated and generally a 'loud-mouth hater' :D so, you can expect a lot of feedback from me, in case needed. Gaming experience... hah! I'll just say I'm the kind of guy that never skips through cut-scenes and always gets stuck on a mile-long introduction texts before even starting the game itself. I know this might go off as "selling the shit out of myself", but I'm not your everyday, 'earn the buck', 'put project on a notch' kind of freelancer designated for content writing projects. I enjoy bringing about quality, and creativity in my writings and those two things I can guarantee on, along with the fact that I will not take your money before I have your satisfaction. Hi I have read your description and the attached document. I like your idea of repeating the story, each time with a different character. Much can be done with this concept. From a writer’s angle, the change in perspective and point of view opens up many thematic possibilities. What is good and evil? What is right and wrong? And what is control? I find that this changes a lot with perspective. The Knights Templar might be the rule of law, but does that afford them control? And if they control religion and capital? It might look like that from their perspective. That is the beauty of the change in point of view. It forces you to consider these questions, not just from an occupational point of view, but also from an individual’s point of view. I would like to understand why the Thieves' Guild is the uniting body that binds them all together. From a gamer's POV, I always find it hard to pick a character and race. My motivation and enjoyment lessens when repeating a game with a different character, as there is no real challenge left. However if it is built into the story, it's not pointless anymore. I've found that the most important tool to develop your story is to talk about it with likeminded people. You can argue a philosophy or an idea in your head in order to grow and expand it, but you progress in leaps if you have someone to bounce ideas off, take House MD for example!
