Discount Group Deal Commerce

Project Description Please see [login to view URL] and [login to view URL], which are very similar to the site we would like to have built. We would like to build an e-commerce website which enables us to sell daily coupon vouchers for local businesses. The voucher gives the buyer a coupon for a product/service at a retail location for a discounted price (the deal). However, in order for this “deal” to occur, a minimum number of coupons must be sold. For example, there may be a deal featured on the site that needs 25 people to buy it, in order for the deal to occur. If the minimum number is not met, no one will receive the voucher and no one will be charged for it. When a user signs up for a voucher, they will enter their payment information and agree to purchase the voucher at the end of the deal given that the minimum number is met. There will be a new coupon offered each day, so the user will have to buy the coupon before the deal expires that day. At any given time, we will be offering only one voucher at a time (however, the system should support multiple concurrent deals if needed). Currently, we will only be offering these daily deals in one city, but have plans for expansion where we would offer one daily deal in multiple cities each day (the site should be programmed to enable expansion in an easy manner). The solution will need to: a) Allow administrator to create new deals (voucher/product) and specify an end date/time, minimum order number, maximum order number, and discount levels. b) Facilitate payment option with direct credit card transactions. (No payment information should be stored on our servers!) c) Store authorizations for customer orders to be processed (captured) in batch based on the expiration of the end date/time and whether the number of orders has exceeded the minimum order number and not exceeded the maximum. d) Allow customer accounts including login to save purchase information for later use (i.e. billing address, order history, etc.) e) Upon processing the payments in batch the system will add orders to customer account and send out emails to customers informing them of purchase completion. f) Customers will need to be able to login and download templated vouchers which will contain their name and a uniquely generated security code (unique 4 digit code dedicated to each voucher within deals), and appropriate discount based on discount level reached. g) A list of the completed orders will need to be generated by voucher/product and sorted by customer last name and will include security code. h) All vouchers would need to be automatically updated to a database to enable Tracking of Deals – to help understand/compare success rates of different offered deals. I) All deals should include sharing tools (facebook share, twitter, email this) j) Not a necessity, but would also like to the know the viability (cost & ease) of incorporating a discussion board for each deal – to enable interaction with users if they have any questions k) Let users sign up for deals to be sent to their inbox on a daily basis (would likely use [login to view URL] as the email distributor supplier). As previously mentioned, we plan to scale to many different cities – so when a user signs up for emails to be sent to them, they should fill out their email address and select their city (thru a drop-down menu) l) If the minimum number of deals is not met, all users who signed up for the deal, should automatically be emailed, letting them know that the deal did not go through and that they would not be charged. m) If the minimum number of deals is met, all users who signed up for the deal, should be automatically emailed a link, which has information on how to download the coupon from the site.
