Begin the report with a introduction. The introduction should provide a general overview and context of the subject and, in particular, explain the key aspects of the topic that you are going to discuss. You may assume that the reader knows very little about the topic. Explain any terminology and use the introduction to make it clear to the reader what your report will focus on. Research the case for and against the topic and present a concise report of your findings, taking care to properly reference your sources. Reflect back on the research that you have undertaken, compare and contrast the pros and cons of the arguments. Develop a drawing or diagram that represents the main issues. Find a suitable organisation (that this topic is important to) and interview members of staff (or other stakeholders) who have differing opinions about the topic in the context of this organisation. Finally, put forward any conclusions and/or recommendations that you feel are relevant, present your own “informed” opinion of the arguments on balance. The report that is produced should not just be a regurgitation of facts. You should explain the case for both sides of the debate. The report should be a careful analysis of the chosen topic. The final section should contain the own views and opinions based on the research that has been undertaken.
