To create an application / object or objects in Matlab / C++ / OPEN cv that will accuratly and reliably detect the edges of an object in a photograph taken by a mobile phone and sent to a server. And then crop and rotate the object. For example a photgraph of a cd, cd image edges to be recognised and cd image to be cropped and rotated.

Hello If we play with applying differential filter and extract gradient vector we can find searched boundary,and "round" it to rectangle.I can test this on SuSe OS. I posted my approach in private message.i think the main time here will be experimenting filters - contour and different bitmap. Regards

As per I understand your object Matlab / C++ / OPEN cv will recognize the mobile we need DSP (Digital Signal processing coded and Forurier transform and Laplace transform Mathamtical formula for crop and rotate the object.
