Creating a read / write function (dll) to a USB Smartcard device for MiFare Contactless cards

Hi, I have worked extensively with C# and also have previous experience with VB6 ( although I avoid it where possible! ) including both development and maintenance. A lot of work I have carried out is creating device drivers/wrappers and performing integrations tasks. Please see the milestones for how I will approach the problem. Depending on your requirements there may also be a better solution, creating a network wrapper around the device and using normal network sockets and a messaging protocol (such as JSON) to communicate with the device from your VB6 application. I have reviewed the documentation for the reader and believe creating a COM wrapper for it will be a straight forwards task. There are a couple of factors which can adversely affect the complexity of software require to control an external device, could you confirm the following: The wrapper only needs to support a single reader connected to a computer. The data being read and written to the smart cards is not protected under any specific regulations (i.e. medical data). It is acceptable to restart the application if the reader is removed and reinserted. Please contact me to discuss the proposal further. Kind regards, Michael Shaw
