We are currently using MS Word to generate our quotes which include service offerings from up to 5 different departments. We are looking at streamlining that process in (word or in excel). What we would like to do is have a "menu" of all the activities from each department (analytical, formulations, manufacturing, etc.) and when we get an RFP, each department manager will choose the selected activities (via check box or something?) required for that quote proposal to be generated. Once that is done by each department manager, the sales person responsible for the project can easily generate the quote. We have a format we currently use in word (see attached)... I would like to be able to keep the format with all the background information, etc.

Such jobs are my daily practice. I propose you an Excel template solution with activeX controls and macros. In my approach you'll have opportunity to consult details with me, to test pilot solutions if necessary in order to achieve an optimal final solution. Further use of macros, fixing of bugs and minor changes are included in the bid without any additional fees. Regards!

I have just successfully completed a similar project and am very interested in working on your project. In addition to being an MS Excel and MS Word expert I am also an experienced marketing and sales professional. This sales and marketing experience will enable me to understand your company's unique quote creation workflow and customize the tool to it. Users of the tool I just completed called it a "Quantum Leap" over their previous method. My initial plan would be to use MS Excel for data input and services selection. And for the quote to be input into MS Word. A key part of tools such as the complex quote generator you have requested is the ability to update them as your products and customer requirements change.
