We have a holiday let we rent out in Darlinghurst on Airbnb [login to view URL] We have welcome note that we send to guest with our details and some local tips on where to buy a good coffee, good retail, museums, ice cream etc. you can see the current one attached. I wanted somebody to update this as it was written in 2012. You would have to do some research on the area (Darlinghurst) in blogs, review sites like UrbanSpoon or TimeOut etc. Ideally the person would know the area first hand knowledge of Darlinghurst and Sydney and have some personal recommendations. The style is very informal and conversational, i would like to keep it that way. I would also like a background to be designed for it so we can get it printed and laminated or put on matt paper. I was thinking some local landmarks (Coke Sign, Some Hipsters having some food etc). Re: Sourcing imagery for the design, if you could find a source it would be great, it not, i will try and work something out. I would be looking for something pretty cool, suitable and abstract ( I was thinking like a faded collage of imagery, but open to suggestion.) I am looking for a bit of quirk and creativity. I would be PERFECT for this task. Firstly, I'm an Aussie (from Brisbane, although currently living in London) and while I haven't ever lived in Sydney I do know enough about the culture and the lingo to be able to give the welcome note some local(ish) flair. Also I currently write for a fitness blog ([login to view URL]) and understand the importance of well researched, quality written content. ALSO! I was an experienced graphic designer (now a programmer) who graduated with a high distinction in Graphic Design (check profile) which basically means I can EASILY create an excellent background for you AND will source all the images myself. Hi Tom, I'm very interested in your current writing job. I live in Perth, WA and have visited Sydney several times. I have a few friends that could help me out with recommendations, along with my own, and several sources online. Being that you live there, I'm sure you would have a few valuable tips and trendy new places you would like to include. With regards to the design, I am happy to sort something out.
