I'm seeking a safety engineer that closely follows OSHA guidelines, ANSI standards, and NFPA codes. The emphasis of this project lies in identifying hazards and implementing controls within an oil refinery industry setting. In addition, the role will be responsible for conducting substantial safety audits and inspections.
{Project Overview:
The initiative targets the operational safety and efficiency of an electrically powered, high-capacity heat dissipation unit (EDPM) prevalent in major petroleum processing plants. This EDPM, which is operational around the clock, relies on an advanced cooling mechanism (CS) to avert overheating and boost system efficiency. The analysis will encompass the examination of current safety measures, cooling functionality, and potential operational risks through the use of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FTA) and Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) strategies.
Objectives:
- Assess the current safety and efficiency of the EDPM and its cooling system (CS).
- Determine the probability of various failure scenarios, including explosions and performance degradation.
- Propose solutions to improve system safety and efficiency based on FTA and RBD analysis.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of cooling systems and high-power mechanical equipment.
- Understanding of electrical-actuated diaphragm valves and electronic monitoring systems.
- Expertise in system safety analysis methods like FTA and RBD.
- Ability to interpret probability and risk data related to system failures.
- Skills to document and present findings clearly and effectively.
Software Required:
- Arbre-Analyste: For conducting FTA and RBD. (Open Source: [login to view URL])
- Basic Design: For schematic representation and design modifications. (Canva / any)
- Statistical Analysis Tools: To process failure data and probability calculations. Use MS Excel.
This project involves a comprehensive safety assessment and improvement plan for the critical cooling and emergency shut-off systems of an EDPM in an oil refinery. The goal is to minimize risks, enhance performance, and ensure the long-term reliability and safety of the system.
Submission Guidelines for Final Report and Supporting Documents
Final Report:
- Format: The final report must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx).
- Content: The report should comprehensively cover the project's scope, methodology, findings, and recommendations.
- Structure: Include an executive summary, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, and references(with APA 7th Ed citations).
Excel File with Calculations:
- Requirement: Submit an Excel file (.xlsx) containing all the calculations related to the project.
- Formula Application: Do not merely input values into cells; ensure each value is linked to the appropriate formula within Excel. This is to demonstrate the calculation process clearly and ensure accuracy and reproducibility.
- Organization: Structure the Excel workbook with clearly labeled tabs for different sections of the analysis, such as cooling system efficiency, failure probability, and risk analysis.
Arbre-Analyste File:
- File Submission: Include the final Arbre-Analyste file used for the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FTA) and Reliability Block Diagram (RBD).
- Software Version: Ensure the file is compatible with the latest version of Arbre-Analyste software to facilitate review and verification.}
Project price is negotiable, we are willing to go above the max bid amount iff needed.
