need a bunch of shell script written to post to a database. I have a small atom powered linux appliance that has 2 x serial ports and wifi and a ssd hdd destined to run a linux distro. need to be able to scan an my existing network and get mac address, ip address and other client pc and user information, write it to a database. mysql. database will have admin user to control the solution. as well as user permission tables. must be able to execute script and fetch user name from database and send command to iptables command shell. eg initiate firewall changes based on my predefined rules. I have a complete test system and a Windows pc with remote access for the right individual to build this. must support enabling or disabling a user. allowing access during certain hrs. must also support blocking permanently or casually certain websites in a list. eg facebook.com. must also support being able to traffic manage data use by user. eg Freddy on gets 3gb per week etc. once the bash scripts are completed, they need to be in a form where I can get a word press expert to execute them on a smartphone or table with user admin rights.

Hi there, Maybe I'm not "The Best" for you project, but following is a brief blurb based on 15 minutes thought on your project, drawing on previous experiences. Feel free to also have a look at my fully completed profile. I am also living in Brisbane. I've had a good read over your project and it sounds like it will draw on many skills that I used for developing a Network Monitoring device, based on Nagios on a Raspberry Pi. I've sketched out a page (I'm happy to share if need be, pictures being worth as many words as they are and all) to get the concepts right and as I see it, there are 4 key parts: * The Linux Appliance (LA) - that is the ultimate target for all the software devloped * The Controlled Network (CN) - The network that is separated from the Internet and also controlled by the LA. * A database, complete with users and access controls, running on the LA, which contains a list of firewall rules, which may be uniquely applied, depending on target host. * A web app running on the LA, to allow a user interface to the DB. This is very much a cursory overview of my thought on this project without further discussion. My aim here is to show you that I've actually given some thought to how this project may be achieved. I'm more than happy to discuss the project in further detail, without expecting a guaranteed selection for the project. (I know you talk of Bash scripts, but they're just glue, I haven't totally ignored your mention of them. Lets discuss)
