Create Sample WebPart and CatalogPart - Quick Fix

Create an asp.net 2.0 Web part and Catalog part that allow me to set data on the web part in the catalog and have it flow thru to the instance when added to a webpart zone. See code snippets for example in deliverables section. The problem to be solved is this: When loading a catalog from say an xml configuration file, I want to store property data for the web parts in the configuration file. Then the catalog part, when reading the web parts out of the config, reads the associated data and sets the properties on the web part with the data stored in the xml. For instance, I might want to store connection strings in the xml config file, and set a property called ConnectionString on the web part with this value. Currently, this is all working except that when the Web part is retrieved from the catalog and added to the web part zone, a new instance of the web part is created, thereby re-initializing all of my properties. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
