First I would like to thank many of you who have given very positive feedback on other codecs and the question of licensing
Please feel free to make any other suggestions
The main objective is to compress from G711u or PCM to something like 5-7 kbps and be ablt to run under WMP with no new codecs to be installed
==================================
I need a small program written in C++? (Microsoft Visual Studio 2005) only to convert sound files from PCM? and/or G711U to GSM 610 and to G729A and G723
NEED voice compression from PCM to better codecs up o 6-7 kbps
Currently we are recording on around 10,000 voip calls a day in a call center,We currently record PCM at 64Kbps and therefore it is only 2 days to fill up 1TB HD. my main concern is size of file, which needs to come down to 5-7 kbps instead of the 64kbps, and that the codec must be standard in WMP (i.e. play normally without special codec installation)
Hence the need for heavy heavy compression.
Currently our program
1. catpure RTP Stream coming with codec G711U in a buffer
2. decode/decompress to pcm,
3. PCM file generated then headers are added, then saved
So you can produce a program or DLL to compress from PCM? and G711u input and produce GSM610 or G729A or G723 output or **any other suggested codec with high compression.**
**Please specify the codec**
Need actual source code and final compiled program
The original file format is PCM raw without any headers (sample is attached)
The final file formats need to be both without header and with header to play in Microsoft media player.
will apply tests by sending you 5 PCM files and you email me back the G729A and the GSM files with and without headers (to be played in Windows Media Player)
**Program**
Please find attached the current function that we use to decode from G711u to PCM on the fly, you need to build one similar to this with the codec you suggest
