I've got a website setup with a Wordpress blog in a sub folder. I want to use the wordpress mysql database and templates as a basis for commenting on all the other pages outside of my blog on this site.
## Deliverables
Here's my website:
[login to view URL]
? ? You'll notice on the bottom of the index page I have the latest post from the blog being inserted.? The blog is here:
[login to view URL]
? ? The code that does this is this:
===== example code =====
<? require_once(dirname(__FILE__).'/blog/[login to view URL]');
? ? ? query_posts('showposts=1'); ?>
<p>
<?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
<div class="post" id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>">
<h3><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to <?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h3>
<div id="small"><small><?php the_time('F jS, Y') ?> <!-- by <?php the_author() ?> --></small></div>
<div class="entry">
<?php the_content('Read the rest of this entry »'); ?>
</div>
<p class="postmetadata">Posted in <?php the_category(', ') ?> | <?php edit_post_link('Edit', '', ' | '); ?> ? <?php comments_popup_link('No Comments', '1 Comment', '% Comments'); ?></p>
</div>
<?php endwhile; endif; ?>
===== END example code =====
? What I hope you can do is come up with something like above and tell me:? ? "Take the code above, stick it on your webpages outside of your blog. Create this row or query in the mysql database to link it to the code above."
? Once you have one page working. I'll do all the grunt work and do the rest of the pages like you show me. I'm not an expert on mysql databases, I know enough just to myself. :-)
? I would like to be able to manage ALL of the comments on my site (blog and webpages) from the wordpress admin panel.
=== Here's an example of what it should look like ====
Clewiston page without comments at the moment:
[login to view URL]
? With comments:
[login to view URL]
? I would assume this is childs play for someone who knows php and wordpress. Never used rentacoder before. Hopefully we can start a relationship up because I've got other things I would like to do.
