Hello all talented devs, I am in the Android IPTV/OTT set-top box market. I want to create a set-top box emulator or app for this popular middleware known as – Stalker Middleware – which is free and open source software that is available and made by Infomir for operators to use. There is an API available for this middleware, I will attach the documentation for the middleware and V1 of the rest API.I would need someone to build this project as I can explain more details if you are interested. I am looking for a developer who is familiar with (or willing to learn) stalker middleware and their mag stb’s (set-top boxes from informir based off Linux) to create an emulator/app for android 6.0 with UI re-design that I will provide. This has already been done by 3 other people and I would like to replicate it. Below I will attach as much information as I can for you to understand and see. I believe unless you install the middleware it's self on a dev server and learn it and see how it functions you will be able to successfully finish this job. If you can see the end points of the API perhaps you will be able to create an app that directly has these functions: Live TV, VoD, EPG, Favorites, and Parental Lock - where it pulls the contents from the operators server to successfully deliver the contents to the client side through the Android stb.

I worked on a Stalker Android client about a year ago and as such I’m familiar with Stalker Middleware. Version 1 of the Stalker API doesn’t have the required endpoints for your requirements. On my project I used API version 2 which does have the requried endpoints. However looking at the Stalker Middleware changelogs it appears that they disabled API V2 in Stalker Middleware 5.1.1. I tried to download the latest source code to see if API V2 is still working, however it appears that you can no longer download the source code straight away. I’ve sent Infomir a request for the source code, once I’ve got it I’ll let you know if an API is available for your needs. Do you have the latest source code? As you mentioned there are already Android apps which achieve this functionality. It would be interesting to see if these apps still work with Stalker Portal version 5.1.1. Do you have these apps installed and access to a Stalker portal whose version is greater than or equal to 5.1.1? Hope to hear from you soon. Alex
