I want an app that gets triggered by SMS keyword to turn on airplane mode, waits 5 sec then turn it back off. IF SMS trigger is not impossible, I want a remote way to trigger the Airplane Mode toggle. I would also want to filter and restrict only to certain specific phone number that trigger or SMS from. Preferably I want it to work on a non-rooted device if possible.

Here's a free advice for you, if anyone says you that he can do it on a NON-ROOTED device, he is certainly lying to you. It is only possible on a rooted device or alternatively what can be done is that airplane mode settings open and the user himself chooses to turn it off when the SMS is received, there is no automatic way that will work on a non-rooted device.

It is possible both ways to trigger airplane mode change. But user need to give some permissions like read sms and write settings. if whole app is like in description I can deliver your app in maximum 2 days. I have developed 5 professional apps till now.
