Laser Hardening using a diode 2 kW Fibre laser

We have imported a 2 kW Diode Lase from Germanyr. This Laser can be used for selectively hardening critical parts precisely. For example conventionally a gear has to be immersed in a bath and the whole part is hardened. The cycle time is long for the cooling, quenching and hardening. By Laser hardening only the work area is selectively hardened using robots. This is new in India. Anybody interested to work on Lasers for hardening critical parts for defense, medical or aeronautical applications is welcome to join us. Should you want to do a project for your degree also welcome.
