Add on class to Sphinx doc engine to index user specified items.

This is a Python job that requires extending the Sphinx documentation engine to do one thing: add items to a general index as required. The big picture is I create documentation from rst files using Sphinx. I would like to include in the index headings and certain rst markup. Therefore, the class I need should basically say IndexMe() item1: ** ** item2: `` `` item3: ===== return The class above would index bold items, inline code, and anything underlined with equal signs. I should be able to add as many lines as I want to specify any rst markup that Sphinx recognizes. Each item I add then appears in the index. If **this is bold text**, then "this is bold text" would appear in the index. I don't know how to get started, but perhaps these docs will help. [login to view URL] [login to view URL]
