Client Advocate to develop FIlemaker Applications

JOB DESCRIPTION We are a design and construction company employing around 80 full time staff. Our company is looking to develop a suite of Filemaker applications that sit alongside our core FIS (financial information system). We intend to outsource the programming to a local consulting company. We are seeking a casual, part time or contract employee in Sydney to: • Help write programming standards and specifications • Ensure quality control in programming • Act as the "Client-side" advocate and look after our company's interests The company wants to be in a position where it is not tied to any one consultant but is in control of the software development process. JOB REQUIREMENTS To help develop and write programming standards including: • Programming methodology and style • Version control and roll out • Screen and app look and feel To help develop specifications including: • Modularity in design • Proposed data structures • Inputs and outputs To assess the quality of supplied code: • Meets the Company's programming standards • Meets the Company's specifications • Is well written and well described APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS We are after an applicant: • Who has ideally programmed in a team environment so has been exposed to organised programming • With formal qualifications who has been trained in good structure, simplicity and the beauty of programming The position: • Would suit a full time employee wanting additional out of hours work • May be lumpy (0hr/month to 40hr/month) subject to what else the Company is doing • Will need to commit to a 1 or more year contract • Will have an hourly rate dependent on knowledge and experience
