Hello, my name is George Bouris. In the past I had built various licensing schemes, of which the most advanced uses asymmetric encryption (RSA). This works as follows: - During the installation of the application (or when the user decides, if you like) a public key is generated and a HWID (it may include CPU id, NIC MAC address or HDD S/N) generated. - The HWID along with the public key are sent to you (or uploaded to your server), where a license file generated (it can be manual or automated). - The generated license file is sent back to the client (or is downloaded during the licensing process). - Your application decrypts the license file, using the private key, and ensures that the hardware is still the same. If not it exits with a warning. I suppose that you're aware of the disadvantages of such a system and the weaknesses of the C# itself. If not we can discuss them both.
