Hi, I'm a database developer with 10+ years experience. I'm expert in T-SQL (2008 / 2008R2 up to 2017) and aim to ensure any T-SQL I write is clearly laid out and easy to read as well as being written to be as efficient as possible. For example I can advise on ways to alter code to use directly set-based queries rather than calling scalar functions which can often end up being called inefficiently row -by-row. As well as MS SQL development I do some work in MS Access and in the past have done analysis / visualisation in MS Excel (using pivot tables) and also some work with SSAS cubes. I came to SQL work from a background in Scientific and then Commercial Analysis and have an excellent understanding of data. I've previously (at CGP books) mentored a Commercial Analyst as they gradually got to grips with complex queries in MS SQL. I currently have two clients where I provide SQL advice on an "as needed" basis. I'm a native English speaker based in Britain, but I am happy to work evenings as needed in order to fit in with your core working hours (up to 9 pm GMT), although I cannot always guarantee to be available each day due to possible prior commitments. I have a good internet link and a commercial copy of TeamViewer that allows me to collaborate remotely either using phone or chat for communication and shared screen for actual work.
